Nipper Rescue Certificate
The Nipper Rescue Certificate is for parents/guardians who wish to become involved in their children’s Woodside Nipper water based activities.
We strongly recommend all parents/guardians undertake this course as the club is required to fulfil set ratios to comply with Woodside Nipper water safety requirements.
It is also a great pathway to lifesaving operations such as volunteer lifesaving or water safety for Surf Sport Carnivals or Woodside Nippers.

Key Course Outcomes:
- Manual Handling & OSH requirements
- Surf Awareness
- 200m Ocean Swim (6 minute time limit)
- Demonstrate Aquatic Tube Rescue
- Basic Signals
Assessment
Candidates will be required to complete fitness components, oral questions, practical demonstrations and scenarios.
Accreditation
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive the Nipper Rescue Certificate and recognition to participate as Nipper Water Safety volunteers.
Your certificate of valid one (1) year from the date of the course. Proficiency sessions will be provided each year by the club.
Pre-requisites
- Be a financial member of the club.
- Be 18 years of age.

One Sunday session, 2hr course
Course cost
Free for financial members, who are willing to assist with Nipper Water Safety at the club.
